This competence is being utilized through my interactions with my French Pastors who from time to time speak to me in their native language. This in turn forces me to utilize communication tolls to understand them as they communicate with me. I am glad that my conference has several language groups.
I am also pastoring an African church was new to me as I was informed of the assignment from the executive committee through the Conference President. This assignment placed me in contact with people from the mother land referred to as Africa. Have a new name “Akinwale” meaning the warrior has come home. I have also been given a Bible and a lexicon dictionary.
As their Pastor I have the privilege to part of their cultural activates such as baby naming ceremonies where a baby receive its name eight days later after birth.
