Competence 3

This activity was approached through several projects that we embarked on to meet the needs of others. We visited to the homeless and took supplies to them and make monthly visits to a Senior Citizen’s Home in Brooklyn.

The Pathfinder Club of the Calvary First Nigerian SDA Church went into the city of Manhattan, contacted the homeless persons we met, giving financial help to them along with a note of hope and encouragement as they wait to find shelter from the elements of nature. We held conversations with them and prayed with many who agreed to be prayed for. We also cleaned the streets in Brooklyn for a few weeks, and work with the Catholic Bread Ministry Program in our neighborhood from time to time.

In addition, I was privileged to visit West Point Military Base with my Cohort. I was impressed with information gathered about the base and their program. I enjoyed learning about their war with the British and other opposing powers. Through this visit I was able to see how they kept their environment. The general layout and order of the facilities is impressive, and their time management left me amazed.
